Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions

Keep Your GPU Drivers Updated

For optimal performance and stability, always keep your graphics card drivers up to date:

Video Processing Errors or Bugs

Symptom:

Videos fail to render, corrupted output, or application crashes during processing

Solutions:

  1. 1.
Reduce Worker Count: If you're using 6+ workers, try reducing to 4 workers. Only use 6+ workers if you have a very powerful graphics card (RTX 3080+ or equivalent).
  2. 2.
Update GPU Drivers: Outdated drivers are the #1 cause of rendering issues. Download the latest drivers from your GPU manufacturer.
  3. 3.
Check System Resources: Close other resource-intensive applications (browsers with many tabs, video editing software, games).
  4. 4.
Monitor GPU Temperature: Ensure your GPU isn't overheating. Use MSI Afterburner or similar tools to check temperatures.

License Activation Issues

Symptom:

License key not working or "Invalid License" error

Solutions:

  1. 1. Check your email for the license key (check spam folder)
  2. 2. Use the Recover License page to resend your key
  3. 3. Ensure your subscription is active at Manage Subscription
  4. 4. Contact support at team@videobatcher.com

Slow Processing Speed

Symptom:

Videos take longer than expected to process

Solutions:

  1. 1. Enable GPU acceleration in settings (ensure correct GPU is selected)
  2. 2. Update GPU drivers to the latest version
  3. 3. Increase worker count if you have a powerful GPU (4-6 workers recommended)
  4. 4. Use SSD for input/output folders (faster than HDD)

Windows Defender / Antivirus Blocks App

Symptom:

Windows Defender or antivirus software blocks installation or execution

Solutions:

  1. 1. Add Video Batcher to Windows Defender exclusions list
  2. 2. Click "More info" → "Run anyway" when SmartScreen warning appears
  3. 3. The app is safe - false positives are common with new software releases

⚠️ macOS "Damaged" or "Can't Be Opened" Error

Symptom:

macOS shows "Video Batcher is damaged and can't be opened" or "cannot verify that this app has not been tampered with". This is a Gatekeeper security block — the app is safe.

Fix — Run these two commands in Terminal:

Step 1 — Before opening the DMG:

xattr -cr ~/Downloads/VideoBatcher-macOS.dmg

Step 2 — After dragging the app to Applications:

xattr -cr "/Applications/Video Batcher.app"

To open Terminal: press Cmd+Space, type Terminal, press Enter. Paste each command and press Enter.

Alternative — System Settings:

  1. 1.Try to open the app (it blocks)
  2. 2.Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security
  3. 3.Scroll down and click Open Anyway
